AI and Accuracy

Story Ants stories are AI-assisted: new passages are written by a language model, constrained by a stored canon record and reviewed before publication. Historical facts are never invented by the reader's path — the record of what really happened is written and checked separately. Report an error to dan.rimon@gmail.com.

What the AI does

The AI writes the passage your choice leads to — the prose, the scene, the dialogue. It also proposes the next set of options. It does not decide what is true about the real world.

What the canon record does

Every history, scripture and classic-book story carries a canon record: the core idea, how it really ended, a timeline of events marked as fixed or pivot, the real fates of the people involved, and the period's physical limits. The engine consults that record on every passage, so a reader's choices change the story without rewriting the facts to fit.

How facts are reviewed

Canon records are drafted, then checked against named sources and marked reviewed — the review status is visible in the admin tools, and only reviewed records are used for the factual sections of a page, for what-if pages and for generated FAQs. Sources are listed on the page, and a source is only listed if it is a real, checkable reference.

How mistakes are handled

Wrong facts happen, and the site treats them as a bug, not a matter of taste. If you find one:

  1. Note the story and the passage.
  2. Email dan.rimon@gmail.com with what is wrong and, if you can, the correct fact and a source.
  3. The canon record is corrected, and the affected passages are reviewed.

What we promise

We never invent a source, never present a generated passage as recorded history, and always tell you which part of a page is the interactive story and which part is the record of what really happened.
